Miele Compact C1 Pure Suction, Turbo Team and HomeCare PowerLine Canister Vacuums
Miele Compact C1 Pure Suction, Turbo Team and HomeCare PowerLine Canister Vacuums are new generation of Miele's classic, very compact canister vacuums, with all the major benefits of such vacuums at rather affordable price. Their main features include excellent suction, various cleaning tools and attachments, ergonomic design etc.
Miele Compact C1 Features and Specifications
Miele Compact C1 PowerLine are powered via 1200 W motors, providing excellent suction, despite long flexible hose and stainless wand.
These units are bagged vacuums, having rather large 3.5 liters filter bags. Since they rely on quality filter bags to provide required air filtration, using OEM vacuum bags is highly recommended.
All three models use the same bag type - AirClean 3D Efficiency FJM, which provide very good air filtration - AirClean 3D Efficiency FJM vacuum bags are made using 100% random spun fibers, achieving 99.9% air filtration. Their soft structure allows the air to pass through the bag smoothly with minimum air pressure drop, keeping the vacuum cleaner efficiency high. Also, these bags are designed to use their entire volume for storing the dirt, without the loss of suction.
AirClean 3D Efficiency FJM bags come in various packages with the most popular being the combination of 4 bags and 2 pre-motor air filters - check Miele AirClean 3D Efficiency Type FJM Dust Bag Amazon link for most up-to-date prices and offers.
Air filtration also depends on two mechanical air filters - one pre-motor filter and one post-motor filter. Keeping the filters in good condition is very important - change them periodically, when required.
Pre-motor air filter, also known as motor protection filter is usually changed after replacing 2-3 dust bags.
Post-motor air filter, also known as exhaust air filter is replaced usually once a year.
Note: Miele vacuums have very similar names, combining words 'classic', 'compact', 'C1', 'C2', 'C3' etc. so be careful when ordering filters - there slight, but important differences between them. Also, there are several models of AirClean filters, too, which can create even more confusion. These filter models are 'common' AirFilter, Active AirClean (black), HEPA AirClean (white) - order according to your actual needs.
Miele HEPA AirClean SF-HA 50 mechanical post-motor air filter, filters out 99.95% of 0.3 microns (or larger) particles - this is after the air is filtered by filtering bag and pre-motor filter. So, Miele Compact C1 are not advertised as HEPA vacuums, but their air filtration is, nonetheless, excellent!
Miele HEPA AirClean SF-HA 50 is replaced after 50 hours of use or approximately after 12 months. Filter features 'TimeStrip' exhaust filter change indicator that signals to the user when it is time to replace the air filter.
Feel free to check Miele HEPA AirClean SF-HA 50 Amazon link for most up-to-date offers and prices.
Miele Active AirClean 50 Filter is an air filter very similar to the HEPA AirClean SF-HA 50 air filter, except that it also features a thick layer of activated charcoal, and is able to trap common household odors, pets' odors included.
All three models, Pure Suction, Turbo Team and HomeCare, come with dirt bag sensor - when the dirt bag is full, user is notified to change it. And it takes lots of time to fill 3.5 liters dirt bags.
Note: if the dirt bag sensor signals that the bag is full, but the bag doesn't appear full, check the unit for blockages and if there isn't any, change the bag - if the fine dirt is commonly vacuumed, it can fill the dust bag pores and reduce the suction.
Suction power is regulated electronically using rotary selector with 6 positions. This selector is on the unit's body, thus requiring some bending.
Miele Compact C1 PowerLine vacuums come with automatic power cord rewind system. Power cord is relatively short (~18 feet, 5.5 m), but in combination with flexible hose and stainless steel telescopic wand, these units have ~30 feet (~9 m) reach, allowing the user to clean large areas using just one wall power socket.
Also, hose and wand help the user to clean surfaces from the floor to the ceiling, using various cleaning tools - all three models come with the uphosltery tool, crevice tool and dusting brush, with the main differences between these models being in the color, main cleaning head and other floor tools, if available.
Miele Compact C1 Pure Suction PowerLine
Miele Compact C1 Pure Suction PowerLine comes with Combination Floorhead SBD 285-3 tool as the main cleaning head.
Combination Floorhead SBD 285-3 SBD 285-3 is optimized for cleaning smooth floors and low-pile carpets.
When traversing from bare floors to carpets and back, using rocker switch, user adjust the tool.
This tool has no rotating brush or any similar 'motorized' cleaning aid, making it very gentle toward various types of floors.
If you need bagged, canister vacuum cleaner, optimized for hard floors and low-pile carpets, go for Miele Compact C1 Pure Suction PowerLine.
Miele Compact C1 Turbo Team PowerLine
Miele Compact C1 Turbo Team PowerLine comes with Turbobrush STB 205-3 and Small Parquet Floorhead SBB Parquet-3.
Turbobrush STB 205-3 uses motorized roller brush to clean low- and medium-pile carpets. As the air passes through the tool, air turbine powers rotating roller brush which agitate dirt embedded in the carpets, like human and pet hair, dust, pollen etc.
Although this tool greatly improves cleaning of the carpeted surfaces, it is not maintenance-free tool - user has to clean the roller brush from time to time.
And since Turbobrush STB 205-3 can be little bit 'aggressive' for really sensitive wooden floors, Miele Compact C1 Turbo Team PowerLine coems with Small Parquet Floorhead SBB Parquet-3 tool.
Small Parquet Floorhead SBB Parquet-3 has no motorized parts. Actually, it comes with 100% natural bristles which help clean dust and dirt from parquet and other sensitive floors.
If you need bagged canister vacuum, optimized for sensitive bare floors, low- and medium-pile carpets, consider Miele Compact C1 Turbo Team PowerLine vacuum.
Miele Compact C1 HomeCare PowerLine
Miele Compact C1 HomeCare PowerLine comes with Classic Combination floor tool SBD 285-3 (available in Pure Suction model) and Turbobrush STB 205-3 (available in Turbo Team model).
Obviously, HomeCare model is designed for people requiring bagged canister vacuum, optimized for hard floors and low- and medium-pile carpets.
Note: beside standard attachments that come with these vacuums (upholstery tool, crevice tool, dusting brush), there are many other attachments that fit Miele's vacuums. They can all be ordered later, if and when required.
