Bissell 2039A SpinWave Powered Hard Floor Mop
Bissell 2039A SpinWave Powered Hard Floor Mop is designed for quick cleaning of bare floors like tiles, linoleum, vinyl, sealed laminate and hardwood floors, etc. It uses a pair of rotating microfiber pads and a cleaning solution, which is a mix of tap water and a cleaning formula. To avoid streaks and marks on shiny floors, distilled water can be used instead of tap water.

Bissell 2039A SpinWave weighs 11 pounds (~5 kg) and it is not the lightest powered hard floor mop in its class. However, most of the weight is resting on the floor and thanks to the rotary motion of the pads and swivel mechanism, unit easily glides over cleaned surface and around the furniture and other objects.
Power cord is 22 feet (~6.7 m) long and it could be longer. Nonetheless, unit can cover rather large area using single wall power socket. Note that there is no automatic power cord rewind system - power cord is wrapped around cord hooks manually.
Power consumption is rather low - just 0.9 Amps.
Due to the low height of the main cleaning head, unit can clean under the beds, however, it is not low enough to clean, for example, under home appliances.
Bissell 2039A SpinWave is capable of cleaning along the edges and walls, leaving no surface dirt. Just be aware that when cleaning along the walls, when rotating pad touches the wall, it can slightly push the mop's cleaning head forward.
Microfiber cleaning pads rotate and scrub the floors. If required, a cleaning solution can be sprayed over the floor to improve the cleaning.
Main cleaning head accepts two different types of washable microfiber pads: soft pads and scrubby pads.
Soft cleaning pads are designed for cleaning all types of bare floors, including sensitive wood floors.
Scrubby cleaning pads clean the floors more 'aggressively' and although they can also be used on all floor types, their intended use is for cleaning stubborn stains and messes on tiles and similar scratch-resistant floors.
Pads are replaced quickly and easily after some practice. If the pads are not aligned properly, unit might vibrate during operation.
Since they are cheap, it is good practice to have a set of spare cleaning pads.

Note: Scrubby cleaning pads themselves will not scratch wooden floors, but picked up dirt from stubborn messes can make scratches. Hence, it is also a good idea to vacuum heavily soiled floors first - cleaning pads will last longer and the cleaning task will be finished sooner.
When cleaning hardwood and laminate floors, be sure that their finishes have no cracks. Although Bissell 2039A mop doesn't require plenty of cleaning solution to clean the floors, any additional moisture can penetrate the wood and make it buckle and rot.
To improve cleaning of various floors, Bissell recommends their cleaning formulas:
- Bissell Multi-Surface Cleaning Formula: it is suitable for use on sealed hardwood and laminate floors, tile, marble and similar floors. Also, it is safe for pets and humans. It cleans the floors, but also freshens the floors with the fresh scent of spring breeze, increasing the feeling of freshness and cleanness.
- Bissell Wood Floor Cleaning Formula: it is suitable for sealed hardwood and laminate floors. It is also safe for pets and humans. Bissell Wood Floor Cleaning Formula restores wood natural shine and freshens the floors with the pleasant scent of lemon, increasing the feeling of freshness and cleanness.
Note: both cleaning formula's can be mixed with tap water, but they leave absolutely no streaks and marks when mixed with distilled water. Bissell recommends tap water since most of the moisture is picked up with the cleaning pads.
After the cleaning, floors practically require no time for drying out.
Water tank is removable and easy to fill:
- when cleaning large area, fill formula tank with warm tap or distilled water to the second water fill line and then add Bissell cleaning formula to the second formula fill line.
- when cleaning small area, fill formula tank with warm tap or distilled water to the first water fill line and then add Bissell cleaning formula to the first formula fill line.
Note: unit doesn't come with water heater, but warm water, up to 140°F (60°C) can be used. Don't use boiling water, and don't warm the water in microwave oven or anything similar - such actions can damage the unit.
Unit is rather simple to operate, but when it arrives, it is highly recommended to thoroughly read the manual/instructions.
Bissell 2039A SpinWave Powered Hard Floor Mop comes with two year warranty period.
